5 to 15 August 2013
Monday 5th August – Reef Walkers arrive at The Caves. Overnight (O/N) @ The Caves Showgrounds.
Tuesday 6th August – walk from The Caves to Rockhampton (25km). Walk with June and her fellow walkers along Yaamba Road to Kershaw Gardens. Designated walk pick-ups: 12:30 pm @ Cnr Bruce Hwy & Yeppoon-Rocky Rd (6km), 1:45pm @ Cnr Richardson Rd & Bruce Hwy (3km). Meet-n-Greet ReefWalk Event at Kershaw Gardens from 3pm near windmill carpark on Bruce Hwy – music, hear June’s message, refreshments, info stall.
Wednesday 7th August – walking from Rockhampton along Emu Park Road to Keppel Sands turnoff (25km). Overnight Mabel Edmund Park at Keppel Sands. Meet-n-Greet ReefWalk Event with South Sea Islander & Keppel Sands Community, 6pm – 8pm at Mabel Edmund Park. Please bring a plate of food to share. Hear June’s message, share stories, information, campfire.
Thursday 8th August – walking from Keppel Sands turnoff to Emu Park (25km).
Friday 9th August – Rest Day – no walking. ReefWalk visiting Keppel Sands, Cawarral & Farnborough State Schools. Celebrate! Public event at CWA Hall, Emu Park from 5pm – bring a plate of food to share & come to celebrate with ReefWalk as they near journey’s end! Live music, bring your guitar, ReefWalk photos & stories.
Saturday 10th August – Join ReefWalk & KAFDA for a BBQ brekkie from 7:30am-9am at Pier 1, Rosslyn Bay (KAFDA sponsored event). ReefWalk departs 8:30am on a boat for Port Alma, arriving ~ 11:30am. Return Rosslyn Bay ~3pm. Boat trip to Port Alma is available for walkers & non walkers – $150 p/p. Limited seats, booking required 0412 503 852 or firstname.lastname@example.org Walkers going should be prepared to walk from Port Alma that afternoon and camp O/N at Bajool or arrange a pickup. Local walkers not taking boat, need to make own transport arrangements.
Saturday 10th August to Thursday 15th August – ReefWalkers walking: Sat 10th – Port Alma Road, O/N Bajool; Sun 11th – walk to & O/N Marmor. Mon 12th – walk to Hourigan Ck nr Raglan & O/N Hourigan Ck. Tues 13th – walk to & O/N (TBC) Mt Larcom. Wed 16th – walk to Yarwun area, O/N TBC; Thurs 15th – walk to Gladstone.
PLEASE NOTE WALK REGISTRATION: Walkers staying overnight (camping) with ReefWalk need to register on-line in advance at https://reefwalk2013.com/get-involved/ . Day walkers do not need to register. Walking typically starts at 8:30am.

Reef Walk heads to Mackay
Friday 19 July – 7:15am
Walkers concerned about the reef left Cairns on an epic Reef walk to Gladstone to draw attention to the damage being done to the Great Barrier Reef by the expansion of the coal and gas industry.
On 19 July the walk is going to be in Mackay! If you would like to walk into Mackay, meet us at 7.15am 19 July at the BP Service Station and Harbour Road for a walk to Bluewater Quay. All welcome.

Airlie Beach – 13th July
Saturday 13th July – 8am
Celebrate June Norman’s and Reef Walks’ arrival to Airlie Beach.
June and fellow Reef Walkers arrival to Airlie Beach will mark the halfway milestone of their epic 1200km journey to Save the Reef.
Walk with June and fellow Reef Walkers from the VMR Carpark along the beautiful foreshore to the Airlie Beach Markets, then listen to June’s tales of the walk so far. Kids can enjoy some fun activities at the markets too!
Where: Meet Volunteer Marine Rescue (VMR) Car Park, Altman Avenue, Cannonvale – Airlie Beach Markets.
When: 8am Saturday 13th July
Will you have shirts available to sell before the walk commences on Saturday morning? If needed you can post shirts and wrist bands to Tracey Lord, from Airlie Beach and we can start selling them…

- Come along and learn about Reefwalk from June and her fellow walkers. A short talk followed by a documentary screening.
